July honestly felt like forever.. There have been too many things happening all at once. I am again reminded that sometimes your closest people around are not necessarily your biggest supporters and it is important to stand your ground and protect your boundary at all costs. This month also taught me to keep going, keep posting and to try looking at social media from a different lens.

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Garden Updates

Not gonna lie I did end up dedicating my whole month to Artfght. Initially.. I did not want to do it hence I started late (I only began drawing attacks on 5th) but 1 attack quickly turned into 2,3, and before I knew it I am on my 18th attacks already. That aside, as mentioned above, I have also began posting on social media more. Instagram and Tiktok mostly. Both platforms makes me want to interact more with the online art community that I even took a small break to particpate in a DTIYS hosted by Eli on Instagram. I also want to learn how to animate because seeing those cool tiktok trend videos makes me feel major FOMO!!

This month’s changes:

1. I’m getting my own workshop! It will be a shared space with my sister but I cannot wait to create and make art over there!
2. Becoming more active on social media, I plan on sharing more original content and be more present!

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Studio Notes

*sigh* I’m guilty of spending 99% of my time on artfight BUT it was worth it! I am so proud of all of my attacks. I am still attacking until the site close for maintenance.. so pleasee wait for this year’s full recap!

I’m still honestly busy offline as we are still setting up our workshop and though the renovation is finally done, that doesn’t mean the tidying up, reorganizing, moving things are done! If anything we are busier than ever. With that in mind, I’m officially stepping down from my mod position in Amogello. It was a valuable experience working there and I wish nothing but the best for the team. 

If you have been following my tweets in the past 3 years now probably you would know how much I want to learn pixel art. Now I’m basically adding animation to the mix! 

Alienated W0rld progress was put on a halt due to artfight (though I did drew 1 single asset IF you check the #1 field log..) but I cannot wait to begin working on it again. Honestly thanks to artfight I have become more and more comfortable in drawing that I think it’s definitely worth it to hit pause a little.

• Custom works and Illustration works will now have additional fee if you want to use them for streaming online. I am well aware that this might hinder some people to commission me but that’s alright. I feel like my service price has been competitive enough in the market considering my skill level and delivery and it is time to raise the bar.

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Garden Wanderings

The drama around our shared workshop continues and relationship was sour for the first half of the month. But aside from that, I have began cooking again, eating my own food and getting better sleep. Overall it was a rough time for everyone in the house but I belive it turned out to be for the better. Navigating interpersonal relationships in your adulthood is undeniably harder compared to when you were younger. Especially when dealing with multiple people who are 2-3 generations older than you. It is honestly easier to just pack our bags and leave, and be that child who only visit during chinese new years or maybe holidays, but I feel like facing my own family head on because I do love them and I do love the house I grew up in and I feel partly responsible to stay, to help manage the household.

On a more positive note, both Bourbon and Luli are healed AND I am adopting another hammy, a satin dove syrian female which I am gonna name ‘Dove’. I adopted her from a reputable breeder so she is gonna be my first— and probably last— pedigree. Honestly I cannot wait for her to arrive. I have prepared and bought all of the necessities such as beddings, hides, sprays, multichambers and bridges.  If 5 months ago someone is telling me I’d be typing this post from my loft and that I am a mom of 2 little hammys, I would probably tell them they’re delulu but here we are! I love my hamsters so much (Luli, my cat is not a pet as she is family, our littlest sister) and amidst all of the drama and emotional tensions, caring for them has been such a rewarding experience.

Letters from the Garden — After the Rain

Growing up is realizing that not every month has to be productive. Sometimes, growth happens quietly, beneath the surface. Looking back, June felt like the rain before a new season. There were plenty of changes behind the scenes, and while not everything is finished, ready or not, I have to start planting ‘new seeds’.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:･°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:･

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Garden Updates

When I changed my username to [Alienatedfl0wer] last year, I wasn’t expecting much. It used to be just a play of words. Sometimes I even feel slightly awkward because the name ‘alienated flower’ sounds long. Even so, the name always felt right, so I stayed with it.

Over the past few months, Alienatedfl0wer has slowly begun to take shape. Rather than simply sharing finished artwork, I wanted this place to become a home for everything that grows around it. 

This month’s changes:

1. Introduced Letters from the Garden as an official monthly newsletter.
2. Added Field Log, an in-universe journal documenting the development of Alienated W0rld.
3. Reorganized the blog archive to make future posts easier to navigate.
4. Began shaping a clearer direction for AlienatedFl0wer as both an art blog and creative journal.

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Studio Notes

Last June I was mostly working to get back to drawing, and only drawing comfort characters. Following the release of my Pony Base, I created 2 adoptable pony batches: Sweet Celebration and Garden of Pride. These were so fun and I’m so happy with how they come out! The Pride batch is only available for a short 48 hours, I love them so much that if not claimed I already have a place for them in my own lore 💗

I cannot thank my clients enough because working on these comms really kept me sane throughout June!

For July, I will mostly focus on reorganizing my bases, my assets and drawing more for Alienatedw0rld. I did have myself assigned in team Tragedy by random for artfight but like last year, I don’t think I’ll actively participate. (BUT I don’t know though if I suddenly want to invest 2 hours of my days on attacking for 25 days idk)

‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.  Garden Wanderings

I thought moving into my own room will make me feel more relaxed and prompted me to create more, instead, life really has been challenging me and trying their very best to keep me off of my iPad. 

My room-cat Ruri got sick, likely infected from her siblings when she’s roaming the house. My campbell hammy, Bourbon also has a soft lump on HIS chest, below his chin. So I took both of them to the vet and I have been giving them both antibiotics daily until the meds run out. [Edit: I just realized Bourbon is a male.. the betrayal but Bourbon is still Bourbon so yeah..]

Thankfully Bourbon is very cooperative and it was easy to get him to drink his antibiotic but when it comes to my cat, Luli, it was a bit of a struggle. At the time of writing though, me and my sister have becoming more accustomed and I could not be more proud of myself for finally able to give meds to my own cat. 

The house renovation is still on going, though it’s scheduled to end in July. It was messy and tiring but thanks to it, we found yet another sewing machine so now, my house has 3 known working sewing machine, all with slightly different features. So we are turning the barely used guest bedroom into me and my sister’s shared workspace to house the sewing machines and our art and craft supplies. 

There was a little bit of a drama surrounding the matter but in the end, we are getting our shared workshop and we cannot wait to create more as we plan on also setting up a small sticker printing corner too.
